In this course, we will be discussing the chemical Hydrogen Sulfide.
What is Hydrogen Sulfide
Hydrogen is a colorless gas well known for its “rotten egg” type smell. This gas can occur naturally in certain environments or occur from the breakdown of organic materials. Commonly, it can be found in many industrial activities.
Workplace Assessment
Hydrogen Sulfide can be found in many industrial environments, but also in areas that are considered confined spaces as well. You should always complete a thorough walk-through of your workplace to identify areas that may have a potential for hydrogen sulfide exposure.
Exposure Controls
During the workplace assessment, depending on the environments that were measured, additional precautions and procedures will need to be implemented to reduce or eliminate the exposure to Hydrogen Sulfide. Beyond identifying, you will need to consider implementing several control measures.
