The first thing you should do after identifying workplace risks and hazards is to select the controls available to help eliminate or reduce the exposure. It can be very valuable to involve senior employees in this process and they will have the most experience and possibly direct experience with hazardous situations. Your plan should address ways to eliminate the hazard, possible substitutions if the hazard is a chemical or machine, administrative controls, or, how people work around the hazard, as well as any personal protective equipment that might be necessary. This plan should be reviewed and updated quarterly to reflect workplace changes.
