When you work in a kitchen, and especially on a line, you are surrounded by grilles, flat tops, ovens, stoves, and fryers. All of which can burn you in an instant if you are not paying attention. To work safely you must understand where burns happen and how to avoid them.
Where Burns Happen
Burns are most likely to occur on the line, but they can occur elsewhere too, like the dish washing area and even the expedited area.
Many burns can be avoided by paying attention and using personal protective equipment.
First Aid for Burns
If you do get burned while at work, take immediate action. Run cold water over the burn and if your burn kit has a gel, use this gel too, then wrap the area with gauze.
