Jig Saws allow one to make precision cuts on intricate curves and patterns. Unlike a circular saw, a jig saw has a thin, straight blade that reciprocates, or, moves up and down. While not as dangerous as a circular saw, injuries can still happen, especially if the saw kicks back or your fingers get in the way. Just like a circular saw, you should inspect the saw before any use, checking the blade, the guards and the cord. When cutting, make sure your free hand is out of the way, and securely holding the material being cut.
