Kitchens are high energy fast-paced environments. There are multiple things happening at one time and most of this is occurring in a small tight space where ovens, grills and fryers are all going at once.
MAIN KITCHEN AREAS
Although a kitchen will have an assigned area for each worker, everyone will be moving around each other as they work together to create a meal. This "flow" happens as food is taken from storage, prepared, cooked, and finally served.
Although every area of a kitchen has its own set of hazards, many hazards are present throughout all areas of a kitchen, such as slips, trips and falls; cuts, and burns. Bloodborne Pathogens are also something to be aware of.
Many of the accidents that occur in a kitchen can be avoided if you pay attention to your environment and understand how to use the equipment required for your task.
